Alpha II and Healthpac Announce Reseller Contract
Medical billing software vendor to serve as a reseller of Alpha II's ClaimStaker

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – December 07, 2009 – Alpha II, a leader in healthcare coding, compliance and reimbursement, today announced a contract with Healthpac Computer Systems, Inc., a provider of healthcare billing software and EMR solutions. Alpha II's ClaimStaker claims scrubber application will be offered to Healthpac's healthcare customer base which includes providers in radiology, cardiology, neurology and other office-based practices.

"Our ClaimStaker software is a proven solution for healthcare practitioners, helping them to increase revenue, reduce denials, meet compliance regulations and monitor coding practices," says Marla Harmon, vice president of operations for MEGAS, LLC, one of the software developers behind the Alpha II cobranded solution. "Healthpac is a well-respected and successful provider of medical billing and EMR software. By extending our existing partnership with them through this reseller contract, Alpha II is able to provide more extensive coding education and greater awareness of reimbursement and compliance issues to an expanded customer base."

"Healthpac is excited about the additional features and benefits that the ClaimStaker product provides," says B.D. Claborn, Jr, CEO and founder of Healthpac. "The goal is for claims that are initially filed to get paid as quickly as they can be. ClaimStaker and Healthpac's joint solution provides those additional editing features that enhance the overall Healthpac HPlus product line."

Using essentially the same technology utilized by payers, Alpha II's ClaimStaker verifies both professional and institutional claims using the industry's most comprehensive medical necessity and coding edits database. ClaimStaker validates the overall claim for technical details including file format and checks line items for valid procedure, diagnosis and revenue codes, proper modifier usage, medical necessity, LCD/NCD appropriateness, unbundling and E/M over-coding or under-coding.
