The National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants
hands top award to industry veteran and entrepreneur
Rex A. Stanley, CEO of UnicorMed, the software leader in healthcare coding, compliance, claims editing and revenue cycle management, has received the W. J. Godfrey "Zeke" Gourley Award from the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, a national organization for healthcare business professionals.
Presented to Stanley during NSCHBC's first annual meeting June 20-23, the Zeke Gourley award is given each year in recognition of outstanding support and dedication to the organization. The award was established in 1996 by the National Association of Healthcare Consultants, which in 2006 joined with the Institute of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and the Society of Medical-Dental Management Consultants to form NSCHBC. Stanley, a member of all three founding organizations, was instrumental in their merger.
"Rex is a true leader, a unifier and a real diplomat," says Carol Wynne, executive director of NSCHBC. "He wins people over with his incredible sense of humor, and is the kind of person who's never got a separate agenda. All of those qualities helped in bringing these three separate groups together."
Stanley currently serves as NSCHBC's president elect. A veteran in the healthcare industry, Stanley is an expert on healthcare coding, compliance and clinical software. His company UnicorMed, which along with MEGAS develops the Alpha II brand of products, produced the first coding software for physicians.
